Keeping track of your incoming and outgoing finances can be done in various ways – you can build your own spreadsheet and add a few simple calculations to it, use a complex and professional accounting tool, or enjoy the ease of use and flexibility of Metalogic Finance Explorer. This tool combines the simplicity of use of a homemade spreadsheet with a professional look and feel. It will help you to have your finances up to date and neatly organized in an accurate yet hassle-free way.

You can bring together in this free and compact tool all data regarding your incoming and outgoing finances – your initial budget for the year, your credit card expenses, your bills and taxes, and also your savings, your investments, and any loans you may be paying. Most of these figures can be considered to be “static”, in the sense that they won’t change unless you modify them. Other figures, however, can be updated automatically with a click of your mouse – these “dynamic” figures refer mainly to your stock market investments and your 401k plan. Not all static figures need to be entered manually – the program supports OFX, QFX, QIF, and OFC files that will import your bank transactions to Metalogic Finance Explorer in a snap.

All of these transaction types are but examples of what you can do with this tool, as you can create your own new transactions, modify existing ones, and even delete transaction types you don’t need in a highly flexible way. Transactions can be easily categorized and classified according to your preferences, and you can assign different rules to them so that new transactions go to the right category automatically as they are imported into the program. You can handle as many bank accounts as required, regardless of their type (cash, credit, etc.), and set financial goals against your budget to control your spending and to achieve those goals in the way that is best for your interests.

The program’s one-window interface is compact and easy to read, with a tree-like, Windows Explorer-looking structure on a side panel on the left, which leaves most of the screen available for your transactions. Metalogic Finance Explorer offers you customizable transactions reports per week, month, and year, or for the period between two dates that you choose.

Metalogic Finance Explorer is free, easy to master, flexible, and just the right tool that all of us need to keep all our finances in order without having to become expert accountants.
